The Kussmaul Alternate Action Relay provides convenient remote ON/OFF control of electrical loads from one or multiple locations within fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue vehicles, command vehicles, and other specialty vehicle electrical systems. Designed to simplify the control of vehicle accessories, the relay uses a momentary ground input to alternately energize and de-energize a connected load.
Applying a ground signal to the control input energizes the relay and turns the connected load ON. Applying a second ground signal to the same input de-energizes the relay and turns the load OFF. Control signals can be supplied by a single switch or by multiple switches wired in parallel, allowing equipment to be turned on from one location and turned off from another. A dedicated grounding indicator output can operate a remote indicator light to provide visual confirmation when the connected load is energized.
