Description
The Flat Axe with Fiberglass Handle & Textured Deer Hoof Grip 35" is a durable firefighting hand tool designed for ventilation, forcible entry, overhaul, and demanding structural firefighting operations. Combining a 6 lb. drop-forged flat head axe with a reinforced fiberglass handle and textured Deer Hoof grip, this tool provides firefighters with the striking power, control, and durability required for professional fireground use.
The 6 lb. axe head is drop forged from high-carbon steel for strength, durability, and dependable performance during repeated striking and cutting operations. The cutting edge provides effective chopping capability during ventilation and overhaul, while the flat striking surface allows firefighters to drive Halligan bars, wedges, and other forcible entry tools.
The fiberglass handle features a strong pultruded fiberglass core with an injection-molded jacket for increased strength, comfort, and functionality. Angled surfaces on one side of the handle help engage the firefighter's grip and resist unwanted tool rotation, while the smooth opposite side allows the hand to glide naturally during each swing.
An enlarged textured Deer Hoof grip provides a secure stopping point at the base of the handle and improves tool retention and control during carrying and striking operations. Unlike traditional wood handles, the fiberglass construction will not mushroom at the end of the handle and provides dependable performance during demanding fireground use.
Available with Yellow or Black fiberglass handles, the 35-inch Flat Axe provides departments with a durable, purpose-built striking and cutting tool for structural firefighting operations.
