The Kussmaul Auto Charge 11 DV is a fully automatic, dual-bank battery charger designed to independently charge and maintain two 12-volt vehicle battery banks. Featuring selectable 115V or 230V AC input operation, the Auto Charge 11 DV is well suited for emergency and specialty vehicles operating in locations with different available shore power voltages.
Independent sensing circuits monitor and control the charging voltage and current supplied to each battery bank, preventing parasitic loads or charging demands on one battery from affecting the other. A patented voltage sensing circuit checks battery voltage 120 times per second and compensates for voltage drop in the charging wires, helping provide faster battery recovery while preventing overcharging.
The charger automatically proportions available charging current between the two battery banks based on charging demand. When one battery does not require charging, the full available charger output can be directed to the other battery to optimize use of the charger's capacity.
A front-panel ammeter provides convenient monitoring of total charger output current, while optional remote bar graph displays and LED indicators allow charging status to be monitored from another location on the vehicle.
