The Kussmaul Auto Eject is an automatic shoreline disconnect designed to prevent fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, ambulances, and other emergency or specialty vehicles from driving away while still connected to AC shore power. Mounted on the side of the vehicle, the Auto Eject provides a reliable power input connection while automatically disconnecting the shoreline when the vehicle's engine is started.
The eject solenoid is wired to the vehicle's starter circuit. When the engine is cranked, the solenoid is energized and immediately ejects the shoreline plug from the receptacle. This automatic operation helps prevent damaged shoreline cables, electrical connectors, and vehicle equipment caused by drivers forgetting to manually disconnect shore power before departure.
A spring-loaded weatherproof cover automatically closes when the shoreline plug is removed, helping prevent water and contaminants from entering the receptacle. Available in 15-amp and 20-amp, 120 VAC configurations, the Auto Eject is offered with Yellow, Red, Black, or White weatherproof covers to match vehicle specifications and apparatus color schemes.
