The Kussmaul Auto Pump AC is a vehicle-mounted air compressor designed to maintain proper air brake system pressure while fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, and other air-brake-equipped vehicles are parked in the station. Operating from 120V AC power, the Auto Pump AC automatically monitors system pressure and restores lost air pressure caused by normal system seepage, helping keep vehicles ready for immediate departure and preventing air brake lockup due to low pressure.
A heavy-duty pressure switch automatically starts the compressor when system pressure drops to approximately 75 PSI and stops operation when pressure reaches approximately 95 PSI. The startup pressure is field adjustable with a fixed 20 PSI differential between cut-in and cut-out pressures. The directly coupled motor and compressor design eliminates belts and pulleys, while sealed ball bearings provide dependable operation and extended service life. An included moisture trap allows accumulated moisture to be routinely drained from the compressor output line.
