The Kussmaul Auto Pump AC AD is a 120 VAC vehicle-mounted air compressor with an integrated automatic drain system designed to maintain air brake system pressure while fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, and other heavy-duty vehicles are parked. By automatically restoring lost air pressure, the Auto Pump AC AD helps keep the vehicle ready for immediate departure and reduces delays caused by low air brake system pressure.
A heavy-duty pressure switch automatically starts the compressor when system pressure drops to 75 PSI and shuts the compressor off when pressure reaches 95 PSI. The compressor operates independently of the vehicle's engine-mounted air compressor and uses a directly coupled motor and compressor design that eliminates belts and pulleys for reliable operation and reduced maintenance requirements.
The integrated Auto Drain system uses a normally open solenoid valve to automatically purge moisture from the water separator bowl each time the compressor shuts down. This helps keep the filter bowl drained without requiring routine intervention from maintenance personnel. The compact vertical-mount compressor features sealed ball bearings, a shaded-pole AC motor, and a maximum pressure rating of 100 PSI.
