The Kussmaul DC Energy Display is a watertight digital battery monitoring instrument designed to provide comprehensive voltage, current, and energy monitoring for up to three battery banks. Compatible with 12-volt and 24-volt electrical systems, the DCE monitors battery voltage from 9.5 to 33.0 VDC and provides detailed charge and discharge information for the primary house battery bank.
The DCE continuously tracks current entering and leaving the house battery bank and applies Peukert's and efficiency factors to provide accurate energy usage and remaining capacity information. Operators can monitor charge and discharge amperage, amp-hours, and percent of charge for battery systems with capacities up to 3,000 amp-hours.
Programmable high- and low-voltage alarms and a low amp-hours remaining alarm provide notification of critical battery conditions. When an alarm is activated, the built-in 85 dB audible alarm sounds and the digital display flashes. The DCE can output NMEA 0183 serial data, or the data line can be configured for an external alarm output or charger on/off control.
The DC Energy Display includes a precision 500-amp, 50 mV shunt and is compatible with 50- to 500-amp, 50 mV shunts, providing a complete battery monitoring solution for fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, ambulances, marine vessels, and other emergency or specialty vehicle electrical systems.
