The Kussmaul Euro Charger II VHO is a fully automatic, high-output battery charger designed to charge and maintain two 12-volt battery banks while supporting continuous parasitic DC loads. Engineered to meet CE requirements, the Euro Charger II VHO provides a 40-amp total charging output for fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, ambulances, and other emergency or specialty vehicles with dual battery systems and demanding electrical loads.
The charger uses precise voltage regulation to maintain consistent charging output despite changes in connected loads or AC input voltage. Active current limiting prevents charger output from exceeding its rated capacity when charging deeply discharged batteries or if the vehicle is started while connected to the charger. Its automatic float charging profile maintains both connected battery banks in a ready-to-start condition while supporting onboard equipment such as data terminals, radios, hand lights, and other electrical loads.
A front-panel ammeter provides convenient monitoring of total charger output current. Optional remote indicators are available, including a two-LED display that indicates AC power and charger output status and a dual bar graph display that provides individual voltage monitoring for each battery bank.
Built with a heavy-duty aluminum enclosure, protective front panel plate, and wire strain relief, the Euro Charger II VHO is designed for demanding vehicle installations and supports 120/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz input power.
