The Kussmaul Power Timer is a weatherproof electronic timer and voltage protection controller designed to provide delayed power shutdown for auxiliary electrical equipment in fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue vehicles, command vehicles, and other specialty vehicle applications. Rated to control loads up to 30 amps, the Power Timer allows radios and other vehicle accessories to remain powered for a programmed period after vehicle shutdown while helping protect the starting battery from damaging low- and high-voltage conditions.
Timing intervals are programmed using easily accessible DIP switches located on top of the unit, providing flexible control over delayed accessory shutdown. Integrated LED indicators provide visual output status information for quick system monitoring. Built-in voltage protection automatically disconnects connected loads when system voltage falls below 10.5 volts for 10 seconds or rises above 15.0 volts for 3 seconds.
Optional ignition-sense wiring allows power to be immediately restored to connected radios when the vehicle ignition is activated, eliminating the need to start the engine before radio power is restored. A weatherproof enclosure and wide operating temperature range make the Power Timer suitable for demanding emergency and specialty vehicle installations.
