The Kussmaul Time Delay Relay – DODO-A is a field-adjustable relay designed to keep an electrical load energized for a predetermined time interval after the controlling signal is removed. Designed for fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue vehicles, command vehicles, and other specialty vehicle electrical systems, this compact relay provides dependable delayed shutoff control for interior lighting and other 12 VDC electrical accessories that need to remain powered temporarily after the control signal is turned off.
When a +12 VDC control signal is applied, the relay closes immediately and energizes the connected load. When the control signal is removed, the relay remains energized for the selected delay interval before automatically returning to its normal state. The field-adjustable delay can be set from 1.5 to 6 minutes, with a factory set point of 3 minutes. Both normally open and normally closed 30-amp relay contacts are provided for flexible circuit integration. The relay requires three input connections: +12 VDC power, ground, and a +12 VDC control signal.
