Golfire

Today, we associate Golfire with high-quality helmet shields, including job-ready solutions and various keepsakes recognizing the work firefighting professionals do.

The company, however, launched over two decades ago with a different mission: Promoting its Glove Keeper Glove Holder for organizing and securing the number of gloves firefighters access in the field. Its focus and sewing capabilities later shifted to Mask Bags and, into 2021, fire helmet shields.

About Golfire Helmet Shields

Behind Golfire's latest reinvention, the company sells anywhere from 5,000 to 7,000 fire helmet shields per year, all manufactured by current and former firefighters in Upstate New York.

This handcrafted quality shapes their entire product line, which encompasses a vast array of designs, colors and custom solutions.

Standard construction includes the following fabrications:

  • Leather helmet shields: Golfire begins with three layers of quality leather and adds a metal backer bar to hold the shield's shape. Laser cutting has since allowed for a greater level of precision among their production capabilities.
  • Tin helmet shields: These six-inch metal shields are built for composite helmets, including Boston and parade styles.

Note that Golfire does not add mounting holes to its helmet shields. Instead, instructions guide you through the process of attaching the shield to your helmet.

Along with producing standard-size shields, Golfire scales down its construction for keychain-sized helmets, locker tags and mini lookalike helmet shields that make great commemorative gifts for current and retired firefighters.
